Jimmy Carter And Eleanor Rosalynn Carter

Jimmy Carter was the 39th President of the United States. His marriage to his wife of over 70 years is something to celebrate. Jimmy Carter, the oldest surviving former President, was a happy man who loved his wife Eleanor Rosalynn Carter very much and lived a very fulfilling life. His admiration for her was evident and he attributed his longevity to her constant care for him.

She challenged him and kept him interested in life. Jimmy’s advice was simple – he said the key to a successful marriage was to marry the right person, as he did in 1946. Since leaving the White House in 1981, the Carters have travelled the world through their non-profit Carter Centre, fighting neglected diseases, promoting democracy and providing support for people suffering from mental health problems.
