Bernard Sanders is an American politician and activist who has been the junior US Senator from Vermont since 2007. Bernie Sanders is one of the lucky ones to have a wife who doubles as his political advisor. As a member of the US Senate, Bernie has acknowledged Jane as one of his key advisors, even helping to draft more than 50 pieces of legislation for the politician when he was a member of Congress.

Bernie and Jane met in the 1980s, when the former was a newcomer to politics, and in 1988 they got married. Since then, Jane has been helping Bernie climb the political ladder, both officially and unofficially. Although Jane and Bernie have no children, they have a blended family and consider each other’s children their own, which is a very happy way of life.
