Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock
Albert II is the prince of Monaco, the son of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace. He was born in the Prince’s Palace of Monaco in 1958. Albert is one of the wealthiest royals in the world, and his wife, Charlene Wittstock was a former Olympic swimmer. She was born in Bulawayo in 1978. These two met for the first time in 2000, at a sporting event in which Charlene Wittstock was one of the participants.
It was reported that the prince, who wasn’t a stranger to secret love affairs (apparently), immediately wanted to win the heart of Wittstock, and it took him 6 years to convince her to move in with him to Monaco. A year later, they announced their engagement. Then, the couple were married on 1 July 2011. Well, to their credit, it looks like they’re very happy, and Charlene even describes Albert as a “wonderful father who adores his kids.”
