ANDREW KOENIG – SUICIDE

Actor, director, writer, and human rights activist, Andrew Koenig, who many will remember as Boner from the hit television sitcom Growing Pains, had reportedly been battling depression before taking his life. Koenig’s father shared that his son stopped taking medication a year before, which many have linked to the exacerbation of the younger Koenig’s mental health. It appears that he was very despondent during the weeks before he took his own life, to the point of selling all his possessions and terminating the lease on his apartment.

Koenig’s death has, to a huge degree, opened the lid on depression, especially among those who grew up amidst fame and glitter.
