In a statement to the Associated Press, her daughters announced the death on Saturday. “Today we sisters have experienced a tragedy. We have lost our beautiful mother to mental illness. We are devastated. We are experiencing profound grief and know that while we loved her, she was also loved by the public. We are in uncharted territory,” said a statement posted on the Jude family Facebook page.
Kentucky-born Naomi Judd was recently announced as a new member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, along with daughter Winona. The duo recently reunited to perform at the CMT Awards and are set to launch a tour this fall.
