Katy Perry, 35 And, Russell Brand, 45—10 year difference

Before Katy Perry dated some man who was more than a few years her senior, and who went by the name of John Mayer (you might know him, because we heard he’s pretty popular!), she dated Russel Brand, with whom she had a 10 year age gap. Their marriage lasted barely a year, but it still provided much fodder for celebrity gossip websites everywhere.

They apparently met at the 2009 VMAs and announced they were dating a few weeks later. Three months later, Russell proposed, and a few months later they got married, only to separate in less than a year. The reason for their split? Well, Russell said for an interview that she was, to some degree, too busy. Nine years after their split, Katy Perry described this marriage as “a tornado” for everything happened at once.
