Steven Cohen | A Shark Suspended In Formaldehyde

Art is a must in every household since it adds color to the walls and simply adds a taste of creativity to one’s home. Most households have paintings hung up, intricate sculptures here and there, but American hedge fund manager Steven Cohen has something else in mind—a shark. Cohen’s the proud owner of Damien Hirst’s sculpture entitled “The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Something Living” or better known as an actual shark preserved in formaldehyde.

Clocking in at a rumored cost of $8 million, the shark was actually commissioned by Charles Saatchi who then sold it to Cohen which is where the shark lives right now. Cohen’s net worth of $14.6 billion would explain how the shark got into his long list of ever-growing assets, and to Cohen, this piece of art is simply one of many investments under his name.
