Steven Spielberg | Citizen Kane Sled
Steven Allan Spielberg was born on December 18, 1946. As one of the biggest directors in Hollywood, it is not surprising that he has a ton of money in his bank account. He started out directing for TV in the industry. He was also active in the theatre scene before he made it big in the movies. Soon, his credit score became so massive that he bought the actual sled from Citizen Kane, the 1941 film by Orson Welles.
It is named Rosebud and was auctioned off to Spielberg in 1982 for $60,500. There were a total of three sleds used in the filming of the movie but the only one that is still around is the one that Spielberg has and preserved. Apparently, the Rosebud must have been quite precious to him. We all know that only a film genius would spend that much on cinematic memorabilia.
