The Most Expensive Amphibious Seaplane | Jimmy Buffett’s Grumman HU-16 Albatross | $62,180

When you mix a passion for traveling with a love for music, you will most likely get the musician Jimmy Buffett. Besides learning to play the trombone and the guitar, he also developed a fondness for exploring thanks to the times he spent sailing with his grandfather. This experience eventually played a major influence in more than a few of his songs, including Come Monday, A Pirate Looks at Forty, Boat Drinks, and Nautical Wheelers.

Besides owning two restaurant chains named after his songs, the Cheeseburger in Paradise and Margaritaville, Buffett also spent a portion of his investment money on a few planes. One such valuable piece in his aircraft collection is the Grumman HU-16 Albatross, named “Hemisphere Dancer,” worth $62,180. Nowadays, though, this beauty spends most of its time on display at the singer’s Margaritaville chain located in Orlando, Florida. With that said, he also owns a Lake Amphibian, a Boeing Stearman, and a Cessna Citation.
