Ali MacGraw is a well-known American actress. She was born in 1939, coming from a family in Pound Ridge, New York. Ali MacGraw, influenced by her arty mother, majored in Drama and Art History in Wellesley. After graduation in 1960, she worked for a fashion magazine called Haper’s Bazaar as an assistant for almost 6 years. In 1968, she made up a decision to break into the film industry. She earned her first major acting award in 1969 for her role in the film, Goodbye, Columbus. It’s the same year that she won the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer.
MacGraw’s awards took her career off the ground as she started gaining more and more projects and nominations the following year. Ali married a famous executive producer in Hollywood, Robert Evans in 1969. Ali MacGraw can credit her then-husband for much of her success. Robert Evans developed projects tailored to Ali MacGraw’s talents and brought them to the bigger screen. The two separated in 1972. Today, Ali is single and worth $6 million. She commits her time to animal welfare activism.
