Born in Hampshire, England, Colin Firth was brought up by parents who were in the academe. Because of his parents’ jobs, he and his family moved a lot. Though this was the case, Firth himself did not see himself pursuing the same path as his parents. He took up a degree at Drama Centre London and started to act on stage. His debut in film was when he was cast as Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice by BBC in 1995. He then became one of the best actors known.

In 2009, Firth got international critical acclaim for his performance in A Single Man, which made him win the BAFTA Award and nominated for his first Academy Award. In 2011, He won an Academy Award for his performance in The King’s Speech and was chosen as one of the Time 100. Until now, Firth’s films have already grossed more than $3 billion worldwide, which makes him have a net worth of $25 Million.
