FLOYD MAYWEATHER – EST. $505 MILLION
Boxing promoter and retired professional boxer Floyd Mayweather was raised in a family of boxers in Grand Rapids. His father Mayweather Sr. and uncle Jeff are both well-known professional boxers. Floyd began to practice boxing under his father’s guidance. He had an amateur record of 84-6. In 1996, he turned professional and competed for the United States at the Atlanta Olympics.
Floyd Mayweather, to his credit, remains undefeated in professional boxing to date and is often ranked among the best boxers—if not as the best boxer — in the history of the sport, is reportedly worth $505 million. And, understandably, he is worth this much — indeed, the only question is why he’s worth only this much — considering he’s reportedly paid $300 million per event. It’s also interesting to note that Mayweather was able to make all this money with only relatively few endorsement deals, unlike most athletes in his net worth category.
